Night of the Prog Festival VIII

The Line Up of the 8th edition has finally now been comfirmed.

It takes place on Saturday 13th and 14th of July 2013. With great pleasure we like to announce

the 2 Headliners Steven Wilson and Opeth. Followed by those we have the Canterbury Prog Legend Caravan

as well as the Devin Townsend Project and Magma which gives the Festival a variety on styles that it hasn´t

seen in the previous years. With only one repeater - The Pineapple Thief, we are glad to have for the first time

a Post Rock Band in the Line Up: welcome Maybeshewill from England. Sanguine Hum is visiting Germany

for the first time as well as Anima Mundi from Cuba. Shooting Stars Crippled Black Phoenix, Amplifier takes the stage

as well as Simon Collins new Band Project - Sound of Contact. Last but not least we welcome

the 70s Retroprogger Anglagard from Sweden

It took this festival only a few editions to raise to one of the leading progressive rock festivals in Europe - or probably even the world.

Next to the music and bands that have taken part at the various festival editions, the main reason for the success is simply the location!

The UNESCO world heritage Loreley (GERMANY) is one of the most outstanding Open Air Amphitheaters in Europe. High above the river Rhine,

the visitors are overwhelmed by the beautiful view of the surrounding area.

By this outstanding ambiente we continue to establish the festival as the "Mekka of Progressive Rock".

The highlights of the past 6 years have been for sure the appearances of Dream Theater, Eloy, Fish,

ASIA, Jethro Tull, Roger Hodgson, Steve Hackett, Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze, Marillion - to name a few.

The tradition to supply a stage for young and emergent bands is one of our major tasks.

To give them the chance to play in front of thousands of people will definitely help to create a career.
